Taking inspiration from the visual background of the men fragrance Terre d’Hermès, the project “Materia” plays around the idea of experiencing the Four elements – Earth, Air, Water, Fire – through our senses.

The perfume case is conceived as a pure, dark, monolith in natural rough paper crafted in cotton: the idea of Earth & soil become lively, and it’s experienced through a raw sense of tactility.

Playing with a materiality contradiction, inside the dark case is hidden an inner world made of fragility, transparency, and layering. Respecting the existing bottle design, I focused my attention around the letter “H”, building an evanescent architecture amplified by multiple reflections between bottles and ideally celebrating the vibrant feeling of Air, Water & Fire.
